Abu Nawas: Debate coachman On Chickens and Eggs

Seeing hen laying eggs, the king smiled. He called the guard in order to announce to the people that the kingdom held a contest for the public. Competition in the form of a simple question but need an answer right and reasonable. Whoever can answer that question would be rewarded very tempting.

A pot full of gold coins. But if you can not answer the penalties are the result.

Many people who want to follow the competition, especially the poor. Some of them to salivate. Given the severity of the penalty to be imposed it is not surprising that only four participants. And one of the participants that very little of it was Abu Nawas.

Rules of the contest is twofold. First, the answer must be reasonable. Second, participants should be able to answer the objections of the king himself. On the day set the participants were ready in front of the stage. Majesty seated on the stage. He called the first participant. Participants were first advanced, trembling.

Majesty asked, "Which comes first, the egg or the chicken?"

"Eggs." The first responsibility of participants.

"What's the reason?" asked the king.

"When the first chicken was not possible because the chicken came from an egg." Said first participant explained.

"Then who is incubating eggs?" retorted the king.

Participants first pale. Her face suddenly turned white as a sheet. He could not answer.

Without mercy he was put in jail. Then the second participant progress. He said,
"The noble lord, real eggs and chickens created at the same time."

"How can simultaneously?" asked the king.

"When the first chicken was not possible because the chicken came from an egg. When the first egg was also not possible because the eggs can not hatch without incubation." The second participant said firmly.

"Is not hen can lay eggs without a rooster?" retorted the king cornered. Bjngung second participant. He was thrown into prison. Then turn to the third participant. He said;

"My lord is noble, actually created earlier than chicken eggs."

"Tell me the reason." said the king.

"According to the servant, who first created was a hen." The third participant said reassuringly.

"Then how can a hen breed as it is now. While no roosters." said the king fishing.

"Hens can lay eggs without roosters. Eggs incubated alone. Then hatch and lower the male chicks. Then a cock up and marry their own mother." The third participant tried to explain.

"What if the hen died before the cock had grown to marry her?"

The third participant was not able to answer objections king. He was put into prison.

Now comes the turn of Abu Nawas. He said, "What is certain is the egg first, then the chicken."

"Let me explain it logically." said the king wanted to know "Chickens can recognize an egg, instead of chicken eggs do not know." Abu Nawas said briefly.

Kinda long pondered my king. This time the king does not contradict reason Abu Nawas.
